Child Sex Abuse inquiry: Lord Mayor Fiona Woolf has no history prior to 1973?

Try as I might, I can’t seem to find any history pertaining to the Lord Mayor of London, Fiona Woolf, prior to 1973.  Wikipedia tells us that she was born in Scotland, but not who her parents were.

How is it that the most powerful woman on these isles has no history that we are allowed to see?  What is being hidden, and why?  How did she come to rule over the Corporation of the City of London, subject to no statutes that our Parliament passes?

Isn’t it interesting that she was invited to attend the International Services Forum, along with Leon Brittan, in March / April 2014?

Should we not know more about this woman, who is to preside over an inquiry into the biggest scandal of government in our lifetimes – endemic child abuse and murder?

38 Degrees has a petition to block Fiona Woolf’s appointment as Chair of the CSA inquiry.  Shouldn’t our MPs be eager to subject her to more scrutiny?

Update 07/09/2014The Mail is covering this story today.  Well done, Sunday Mail – and thank you.  None of the other papers have the guts to do so.

  1. The Good Lady has a website which says that she was at Keele and the University of Strasburg prior to qualifying as a solicitor in 1973.
On the surface there doesn’t appear to be anything suspicious here.

    • Yes, but that’s it. When you consider the position she holds, the power she wields and the importance of the inquiry which she is supposed to be heading, I would expect to see some family history, but there’s just nothing. That’s just unacceptable.

  3. If you look at Fiona Woolf’s website you’ll find an article by Elizabeth Cruikshank which gives you some of the basic details, eg about her father being Professor of Virology at Edinburgh, and more background. It doesn’t seem to be hidden away. http://www.fionawoolf.com/images/file/Triple%20Helix.pdf
